What’s worse than total strangers rubbing your pregnant belly?! …How about total strangers that come up to your sweet tiny newborn and for some totally unknown reason touch your baby’s face or hands before you have a chance to react! UM…YUCK! Why people can’t keep their hands (and germs) to themselves I’ll never understand, but this happened to me so many times with each of my kids. Look don’t touch people, look don’t touch.
That’s the main reason I’m totally in love with my Baby Car Seat Cover Canopy by Copper Pearl. I get a lot of double takes – no pun intended – when I go out with the twins. People are interested, want to see them, ask questions, etc. Even with the extra attention, thanks to our Car Seat Covers so far not 1 stranger has touched the babies! People will peek through the top or ask to see them, which I don’t mind at all. What mom doesn’t love showing off and talking about her babies?! But something about me having to open each cover makes them keep their hands to themselves… which is exactly what I wanted.
I’ve seen other covers that attach to the infant seat handle and just hang down but I never liked the idea because I was worried the fabric would accidentally end up over the baby’s face. With the Copper Pearl cover, it’s a really nice stretchy material so you just pull it tight and it fits snug around the bottom of the infant seat keeping it away from baby. They also look really nice, I get comments all. the. time.
Also, a couple times we’ve got caught out when it was raining or really windy, so the covers of course are also great to protect your little one(s) from the elements. And to really get your money out of it, you can also use them as a nursing cover (works really well) and shopping cart cover (definitely better than nothing, but I must be honest I prefer the padded, cushy shopping cart/highchair covers).
So there you have it!
Curious about the rest of my travel system?!
This time around I chose the Chicco Keyfit Infant Car Seat & Base which are super easy to install and about as lightweight as an infant seat can be.
Our stroller is the Joovy TwinRoo+ …it’s heavy but I figure any double stroller will be, but it works great, easy to fold/unfold, very easy to push, and Joovy has awesome customer service. Plus *twin mom tip* Joovy gets that twins are NOT “2 for the price of 1” as people say, but 2 for the price of 2 so they offer a lifetime twin mom discount! Just call them and register. Wahoo!
And a little accessory that is a total lifesaver – JJ Cole Car Seat Arm Cushion. Infant seats aren’t easy to carry, this helps, a lot.
