Disclosure: Motherhood with a Glass of Whine received a sample to test, all opinions are my own.
I always liked the idea of co-sleeping during those first few months, but was way too nervous to actually try it. What if I rolled over and hurt the baby? Or (to be honest what I was really worried about) what if my husband did? What if the covers accidentally got pulled over the baby? What if the baby somehow rolled off the bed?… There are enough “what if’s” to keep a mother up all night – and we all know a new baby does that without any help!
This time around though, I have 2 little sleep stealers and my days are busier than ever with our family of 6. Needless to say, I’m interested in anything that will make life easier, get me a few extra minutes of sleep, or free up a hand. Then again, what mom isn’t interested in all those things? That’s why I have to tell you about the Serta icomfort Premium Infant Sleeper AKA my new best friend.
The Infant Sleeper is a super comfy mini-bed for baby that fits right next to you while you sleep – my girls love it and so do I! You really can’t beat the convenience of having your baby in a safe spot right next to you – often times my girls will start to stir and without even getting up I can place my hand on their tummy or offer them a pacifier and they calm down and doze back off. The sturdy design and tall mesh sides are enough for even the most paranoid of moms (as in moi) to feel totally safe. It’s big enough to accommodate a growing baby, so you can get your money’s worth, but small enough to fit easily in our queen bed with 2 adults.
I actually use the sleeper throughout most of the day too. It’s light and easy to move from room to room and since the girls sleep well in there, it’s my go to spot anytime I need to put them down. I use it all the time to keep one of the girls close while feeding the other and for now I can even snuggle both the twins in there while I get things done. The sleeper has some neat added features like a built in night light, sound machine (it plays lullabies or nature sounds that remind me of a spa) and 2 levels of vibration. Another thing I really love, the Infant Sleeper folds into itself so it’s really easy to move around the house or throw in the car and bring with you to Grandma’s.
